A final year female Unilag student was arrested on Wednesday, 18th of April after she allegedly stole her boyfriend’s ATM card and used it to buy an iPhon 8 and X on Jumia. According to trending reports, the lady bought other several items on Jumia too. A man reportedly tried to separate a fight between his two wives today in Adamawa state, however, it turned out to be a bloody one after he was stabbed. National helm reports that the man identified as Adamu Dewa from Dirdeu village, Ganye Local Government Area of Adamawa state was stabbed to death this morning by his first wife while trying to separate a fight between her and his second wife. The social network said it will eventually inform every user who was affected with a warning at the top of their Facebook news feed. According to The Guardian in a report on Wednesday, individuals can check if they were affected or not by going to a new help page on the site or searching for “How can I tell if my info was shared with Cambridge Analytica?” in Facebook’s help centre. The Vice Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University has reacted to a leaked audio that shows a professor in the institution demanding sex from a female student to help her pass her examination. Students and staff of the institution, who have heard the audio, have told PREMIUM TIMES it is the voice of Richard Akindele, a Professor in the Department of Accounting at the university. The don, whose name was mentioned in the audio by the victim, is yet to publicly speak on the scandal. It may be recalled that on Thursday, April 5, armed robbers invaded a handful of banks in Offa, Kwara State, killing many people which eyewitnesses said were up to 50. A new university has been approved for the Nigerian Army. The Federal Executive Council (FEC) gave the approval on Wednesday at its meeting. The university will be located in Biu, Borno State. The approval follows the presentation of a memo by the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu. Mr. Adamu announced the approval while briefing State House correspondents at the end of the meeting of the council. The Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai, a lieutenant general, had earlier in March announced that the Nigerian Army will upgrade the Institute of Technology and Environmental Studies to a full fledge University of Technology and Environmental Studies. “The university was conceived as a unique one that will be different from conventional universities in Nigeria. “The concept is to make it a solution provider and a centre of excellence for a variety of technologically related ventures such as generation and armament production,” the army chief said.

Police officers swarmed YouTube's headquarters in northern California on Tuesday after reports of an active gunman. San Bruno police say they "are responding to an active shooter" and cautioned people to stay away from the building, which is on Cherry Avenue, about 11 miles south of San Francisco.  Photos on social media showed dozens of people being escorted by law enforcement out of the building with their hands up. Suspected gunmen numbering about five on Tuesday morning stormed Gegu Beki police station in Kogi Local Government, firing and killing two police men. The officers killed are identified simply as Jacob and Akile, who were on duties. Also killed in the incident was a detained suspect who was arrested for failing to produce a suspect he bailed. An eyewitness who spoke to the reporters disclosed that the rifles of the policemen were taken away by the gunmen. As the time this report was filed, the corpses of those killed have been taken to the Federal Medical Center, Lokoja by men of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC). The eyewitness disclosed that the incident occurred at about 2:15 am of Tuesday.
