Hip-Hop Artiste 9ice loses voice
If information flying around the music industry is anything to go by, then, the once upon a time sonorous voice of the Alapomeji boss, Abolore Akande has cracked. The Gongo Aso crooner who has remained the toast of music lovers for almost four years now, owing to his swift delivery of his proverbial lyrics, has suddenly become a shadow of himself.
A typical example of the exposure of his (9ice) terrible voice, was glaring in his recent collaboration with new rap sensation Olamide in the track ‘Legendary Hustler’. In the said track, 9ice sounds more like an artiste whose voice has been imprisoned for years. Observers say the current state of 9ice’s voice may be responsible for the delay in the release of his much anticipated double album; Bashorun Gaa and 9ice versus. It was gathered that the artiste has not been able to meet upwith the performances that, made his three previous albums; Certificate, Gongo Aso and Tradition a success.
The first exposé on the state of 9ice’s voice, came last year at the welcome back party organised in honour of returning Fuji king, Wasiu Ayinde, who returned after a medical trip abroad. The show staged at Lagbaja’s mother land saw 9ice at his worst performance.
Despite miming his hit track Gongo-Ago to the audience, the already drunk 9ice at the show, messed up his owned well composed, arranged and recorded song with his terrible voice coming from the microphone.
Fans are desperately waiting for what will become of the expected album Bashorun Gaa.
