Father not happy with Nollywood Actress Ini Edo's change of name

Iniobong Edo is undoubtedly one of the most successful actresses from Nigeria’s oil rich Niger Delta region. But in spite of the huge success story she revels in, the father of the thespian might be very far from being happy with her.
According to sources close to the family of
the actress, she has been living a false life as she abandoned her father’s name for a name she invented herself. They say the name Edo is not her real name as she may have been ashamed of bearing her father’s name. They say her father, though happy with her success, is not very
comfortable with her for changing his name and rubbishing his family name.
Her real surname is said to be Ekim, which means darkness. while she was still struggling to have a breakthrough,the actress must have believed that the name ‘darkness’ would not augur well with her, hence she first changed the name to Unwana, which means light, and later to Edo which sounds more ‘funkified’ and easy to pronounce.
